Photographing places before people
Before anyone poses, we spend a day photographing the rooms, the light and the street.

On every shoot, the first day belongs to the place. No people, no products, just the rooms, the light at different hours and the street outside.
It started as a way to scout. It became the part of the shoot clients use most.
Why places
People change jobs, haircuts and opinions about being photographed. A building stays. A good photograph of a room tells you how a company works before anyone explains it: how tidy it is, how much light it lets in, where people actually sit.
For Mølle we photographed one house over two days, from first light to after dark. The dusk frame became the home page.
Then people
By the second day, we know where the light falls and which corners feel honest. People are photographed there, doing what they would be doing anyway. Nobody smiles at the camera unless they want to.
